The TV is Killing my Business!

Well ok maybe it's not killing my network marketing business but it sure isn't helping. I haven't had cable for over a year now. It wasn't doing anything to help me build my business. It's a big time waster and usually has a negative affect. I was one of those people who got home from work turned on the tv and it stayed on until I went to bed. I scheduled my life around what was on.

Then I got into network marketing and personal development. I started reading and listening to cd's. I realized watching tv was only holding my growth back. To change your life, whether it's your network marketing business, health or relationships you have to be willing to give some things up in exchange for what you want to get. All the training in the world won't help if you're not willing to do the activities necessary to move forward.

Here's the tricky thing about habits like watching tv, they can sometimes creep back into your life. I found even with only 3 stations I was starting to watch more tv. So I made the decision to do something about it. I unplugged the tv and put it away in the attic. The funny thing is I don't miss it-at all! Sometimes we think something will be a terrible sacrifice but in reality it's all in our heads.

I always loved to read so I'm doing a lot more reading. Books that will move me forward towards my goals. Whether it's strictly a personal development book, an autobiography of successful people or about succeeding in network marketing it doesn't matter. Personal growth and acquiring knowledge is a life long endeavor. Besides is Britney Spears helping me build my business? Is my sponsor on Big Brother?

Can't I Just Buy This at the Store?

Have you ever talked to someone about a product or offered a sample and had this question asked? It's not unusual,1322236-1504330-thumbnail.jpg I've had this question asked many times. One of the things I used to do was try to explain why it's not available in the store, why a network marketing company was a good way to go. Getting too detailed, too much information. I'm an information kind of gal. Love to research and learn all the facts.

But, most people aren't like that. A simple answer is always the best. Like it's cheaper ordering it online, it's more convenient or whatever may work best with the particular person you're talking too. You're always going to run into people who would rather go to the store even if your product is better. Don't try to convince them to do something they don't feel comfortable doing.

Here where I live there used to be a Penny's catalog center. Customer service reps would take catalog orders from customers. Their staff slowly declined over the years until they finally closed a short time ago. The reason they closed was because so many people were now ordering online, so a lot of people do order online.. When catalogs first came out do you think everyone thought it was a great idea, of course not. Many people thought this catalog thing would never last.

When the internet came out many people thought that wouldn't last either. The point is not everyone thinks the same, not everyone orders online but many people do. If you have someone who doesn't "trust" the internet that's ok just keep up the relationships, keep in touch (but don't be a pest). Things change all the time and of course there's referrals. If it's possible order the product for them and have them reimburse you. Don't forget to get your shipping and handling too! It is a business.

Always remember you want to talk to the people who want what you have.

Ok, This is just Funny

I subscribe to Marketwaveinc.com It's a site by Len Clements. It's a good way to keep up on some of the things going on in the network marketing industry. But today I got something that's to good not to share. We've all seen the hype that's out there with some network marketing opportunites. Here's a homage to those sites so just click here.  I don't know how long this will be up so go now!
