Sometimes we're even happy there. More often than not I hear people talk about how unhappy they are or how they wish things were different. Oh well, that's life, I can't change things, what are you going to do. I'm quite intimate with this kind of thinking-been there done that. Deciding to build a network marketing business is a tremendous decision to begin with, then there's what comes next.</p><p>We've all felt the excitement of something new, telling everyone about it, feeling like you're on the verge of something great. And then...crash. We lose the excitement, we realize it's not going to be as easy as we thought or have been told. We'll have small successes followed by seemingly crushing failures. Fear starts to set in. What if I never reach my goals? What if no one sees the opportunity that I see? What if no one understands? What if...<br></p><p>Rejection, unreturned phone calls, oh no one of <em>"those things</em>". It's so easy to slip back into the familiar, the comfortable. The job we don't particularly care for, the bills we can barely keep up with, the dream vacation we'll never take but hey that's life. I looked up fear in the dictionary and found a pretty long definition. However "fearless" is simply defined as <strong><em>free from fear.</em></strong></p><p>Being free from fear isn't about not having fear but rather not being held captive by it. Feel it, acknowledge it and free yourself by moving forward and do whatever it is you need to do. The funny thing about doing things you're afraid of is do them often enough and the fear diminishes until it's just a fleeting emotion. Is it easier said than done? ABSOLUTELY. Your circumstances don't change because of other people's opinions of how things should be. You are responsible for your circumstances. Do unexpected thing happen? Of course. Are some things out of your control? Sometimes yes. </p><p>What the really important part is how you react. What you learn. How you apply those lessons. Here's the truth <em><strong>there is selling involved. </strong></em>Any legitimate network marketing company makes money through retail sales. Retail sales are product purchases made by people who are NOT involved in the business, they are customers.&nbsp; If you&nbsp; don't want to do any selling don't join a network marketing company. </p><p>That being said...most people are not comfortable selling. You probably have a picture in your head of what a salesman looks and acts like. Salesman are pushy, they only care about the sale, they'll do anything to get the sale, they don't really care about me. I know there's salesman out there that are exactly like that but you really can't assume that all salesman are. If you have a product that's really helping you or people you know or even don't know, would you recommend that product?</p><p>If some one was looking for something that you happened to offer, wouldn't you offer it? If you could fulfill a need for some one wouldn't you want to fulfill it? That's where a great product or product line comes in (that includes service based businesses). If you're unsure about selling you better have a product you believe in 110%. Products don't sell themselves but their benefits can. You can give some one a sample, tell a story about what the product has done for you. Show them some testimonials, it doesn't have to high pressure stuff!</p><p>The bottom line is yes there is selling involved but the relationship is important, your desire to help is important, fulfilling a need is important. If you're like me the first thing you do is check your emails. See which ones you need to take care of right away and then get on with the rest of your work. Right?</p><p>There's been times when it seems like I've lost a block of time and can't remember what happened. <em>The email black hole. </em>You know what I mean. You're reading an email, see an interesting link click on it, check it out, it leads to another link and all of a sudden it's an hour later. Most of us have things to do like go to work or take care of our families, or house or whatever.</p><p>Your time is valuable use it wisely. There may be a great <a href="http://www.janetnapora.com/home/2008/5/15/what-didnt-you-accomplish-today.html">resource</a>, an ebook or a good tool and that's fine. Make a note to look at it later. Do the activity that's helping you build your business first. Know what your priorities are and get to them. We've all been there. I should have done that, I could have done this, what would've have happened if...? We sit and think of all the things that could have been and in the mean time nothing changes. How often have you let this thinking stall your <a href="http://www.janetnapora.com/home/2008/5/3/the-woulda-shoulda-coulda-syndrome.html">network marketing business.</a></p><p>You get off the phone with a <a href="http://www.janetnapora.com/home/2008/5/3/the-woulda-shoulda-coulda-syndrome.html">prospect</a> and think how much better of a job you <em>could've</em> done. When they asked that question you <em>should have</em> said...If only I did it that way or this way where <em>would </em>I be now? Well, my advice? Get over it. None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. </p><p>I've spent a lot of time in woulda, shoulda, coulda land and you know what, it's a boring, barren unproductive, life sucking place. Instead of worrying about what you didn't say, for example when talking to a prospect, write down the conversation, how can you improve it? Learn from it and move on. When we learn new skills we get better by doing, over and over. Not by hesitating or procrastinating.</p><p>Your business won't fall apart if you make mistakes. If that happened no one would succeed. Do you think the top income earners in network marketing don't make mistakes or aren't uncertain from time to time? Please,they are human after all.&nbsp; One more thing always take advantage of the support in your <a href="http://www.janetnapora.com/home/2008/5/3/the-woulda-shoulda-coulda-syndrome.html">company </a>and on your team. I haven't had cable for over a year now. It wasn't doing anything to help me build my business. It's a big time waster and usually has a negative affect. I was one of those people who got home from work turned on the tv and it stayed on until I went to bed. I scheduled my life around what was on.</p><p>Then I got into network marketing and personal development. I started reading and listening to cd's. I realized watching tv was only holding my growth back. To change your life, whether it's your network marketing business, health or relationships you have to be willing to give some things up in exchange for what you want to get. All the training in the world won't help if you're not willing to do the activities necessary to move forward.</p><p>Here's the tricky thing about habits like watching tv, they can sometimes creep back into your life. I found even with only 3 stations I was starting to watch more tv. So I made the decision to do something about it. I unplugged the tv and put it away in the attic. The funny thing is I don't miss it-at all! Sometimes we think something will be a terrible sacrifice but in reality it's all in our heads.</p><p>I always loved to read so I'm doing a lot more reading. Books that will move me forward towards my goals. Whether it's strictly a personal development book, an autobiography of successful people or about succeeding in network marketing it doesn't matter. Personal growth and acquiring knowledge is a life long endeavor. Besides is Britney Spears helping me build my business?
