Network Marketing and the No Selling Myth

When looking at network marketing opportunity sites you've probably seen the no selling pitch. Here's the truth there is selling involved. Any legitimate network marketing company makes money through retail sales. Retail sales are product purchases made by people who are NOT involved in the business, they are customers.  If you  don't want to do any selling don't join a network marketing company.

That being said...most people are not comfortable selling. You probably have a picture in your head of what a salesman looks and acts like. Salesman are pushy, they only care about the sale, they'll do anything to get the sale, they don't really care about me. I know there's salesman out there that are exactly like that but you really can't assume that all salesman are. If you have a product that's really helping you or people you know or even don't know, would you recommend that product?

If some one was looking for something that you happened to offer, wouldn't you offer it? If you could fulfill a need for some one wouldn't you want to fulfill it? That's where a great product or product line comes in (that includes service based businesses). If you're unsure about selling you better have a product you believe in 110%. Products don't sell themselves but their benefits can. You can give some one a sample, tell a story about what the product has done for you. Show them some testimonials, it doesn't have to high pressure stuff!

The bottom line is yes there is selling involved but the relationship is important, your desire to help is important, fulfilling a need is important. If your heart and head are in the right place you'll do just fine.

Good post! It's nice to hear somebody else come out and tell it like it is. Anybody who tells you there's no sales involved in joining their business is probably not being upfront with you. Keep it up!
