Is Texting the Future of Relationships?
Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 12:02PM How many times during the day do you see someone texting on their cell phone? I know there's some people who use it sparingly and for short messages. Whenever a cell provider comes up with a new or improved feature it's just a matter of time before the rest jump on the band wagon. So something's going on.![]()
Is actual talking becoming a thing of the past? Look at the advertising one commercial has two young people in love texting each other their true feelings. How personal is that? I don't know maybe I'm old fashioned. I like an actual interaction. To hear the tone in someone's voice. To feel the emotion in the conversation.
I see people in restaurants sitting across from each other staring at their cell phone or blackberry. Are we becoming socially inept? Is carrying on a real conversation become inconvenient? Is it just to much trouble? Don't get me wrong I'm not against technology or convenience. I do believe technology can improve our lives but relationships aren't build on convenience.
Sometimes relationships are complicated, messy, scary and require work. The next time you have something important to say use your voice and your heart not just your words. This is something that you need to apply to your network marketing business too. Ever see those systems that do all the work for you? Wow I don't have to do anything!
My prospects will get these pre written emails and they'll just join! Well it doesn't work like that. Even if they join they'll probably quit just as fast. There's no connection, no relationship. It's like dating someone through texting and never meeting them. How about marrying someone you've never met. How long would that last? You need to decide if you're willing to do the work. Build that relationship, earn their trust and build a network marketing business to last a lifetime.

Hi,Janet!!
First want to wish you a Happy Birthday today!!
I called you because I am not on Skype yet, but you were not home!!
You are sooo right about all the texting these days! In fact, I heard on TV the other night that it is considered 'an addiction' now and has to be treated professionally to let go of it!! <Yikes!!>
