The TV is Killing my Business!
Monday, April 21, 2008 at 09:57PM Well ok maybe it's not killing my network marketing business but it sure isn't helping. I haven't had cable for over a year now. It wasn't doing anything to help me build my business. It's a big time waster and usually has a negative affect. I was one of those people who got home from work turned on the tv and it stayed on until I went to bed. I scheduled my life around what was on.
Then I got into network marketing and personal development. I started reading and listening to cd's. I realized watching tv was only holding my growth back. To change your life, whether it's your network marketing business, health or relationships you have to be willing to give some things up in exchange for what you want to get. All the training in the world won't help if you're not willing to do the activities necessary to move forward.
Here's the tricky thing about habits like watching tv, they can sometimes creep back into your life. I found even with only 3 stations I was starting to watch more tv. So I made the decision to do something about it. I unplugged the tv and put it away in the attic. The funny thing is I don't miss it-at all! Sometimes we think something will be a terrible sacrifice but in reality it's all in our heads.
I always loved to read so I'm doing a lot more reading. Books that will move me forward towards my goals. Whether it's strictly a personal development book, an autobiography of successful people or about succeeding in network marketing it doesn't matter. Personal growth and acquiring knowledge is a life long endeavor. Besides is Britney Spears helping me build my business? Is my sponsor on Big Brother?

Janet,
Good post... we all get so caught up what the masses are doing like watching the tube but all successful people watch very little tv because it clouds their mind with garbage. Instead of watching the tv make your own video and post it on youtube!

Hey Janet, this is a very Great post. I'd like to think of any distraction as the Matrix..what an awesome movie. Everytime you feel distraction, step back a moment and realize that you need to focus on the vision you have for success..
God Bless
